Lines

The Montreal Metro consists of four underground lines. They are colour- and number-coded: 1 (green), 2 (orange), 3 (yellow), 4 (sky blue). Working hours: from 6 a.m. till 0.30 a.m. (Sunday – Thursday), and from 6 a.m. till 1.30 a.m. (Friday – Saturday).

Fare

The cost of one journey makes CAD 3.50, for children (6 – 17) and people over 65 – CAD 2.50 - 1.00. There are two-journey passes (costing CAD 6.50) and ten-journey passes (costing CAD 30). The ticket is valid for 120 minutes and can be used not only in metro, but also on buses, allowing the necessary number of interchanges within the given time. There are also unlimited-journey tickets: 1 day for CAD 10, 3 days – CAD 20.50, one week – CAD 28.00 and one month – CAD 90.50. Besides, the rechargeable contactless OPUS card which costs CAD 6 can be used.

Ticketing

Tickets, card and transit passes can be purchased from ticket offices and ticket machines installed at metro stations. Reduced fare tickets can be purchased from ticket offices only. A ticket has to be activated in the ticket barrier and kept until the end of the journey.
